DIGITAL TREAD DEPTH GAUGE
FOR STREET TIRES OR RACING SLICKS; GAUGE MEASURES TO ACCURACY OF 1/1000 OF AN
INCH. ONE BUTTON ON, ONE BUTTON ZERO AND INCH/MM CONVERSION BUTTON. TAKES
SECONDS TO OPERATE AND YOU NEEDN’T EVEN GET DIRTY
SORRY, BUT THIS PART MUST BE INCLUDED HERE!
ENSURE CAR IS IN PARK AND SUPPORTED BY STANDS, BLOCKS OR OTHER POSITIVE STOP
DEVICE.
(CAN YOU BELIEVE WHAT WE ARE HEADING FOR?)
KEEP TRACK OF THE TREAD DEPTH FROM WEEK TO WEEK OF RACING. CHECK IN DIFFERENT
PLACES AROUND THE TIRE TO CHECK EVENNESS OF WEAR. CAN GIVE YOU A CLUE AS TO THE
FOOTPRINT YOU ARE LEAVING. YOU CAN EVEN FIND OUT IF YOU ARE USING TOO MUCH AIR
PRESSURE…OR NOT ENOUGH. CAN EVEN INDICATE BENT HOUSING, AXEL, BAD SPRINGS AND
JUST A HOST OF EVIL THINGS THESE CARS GO THROUGH.
WHEN YOU ARE HOOKING GREAT, AND HARD, AND THE ET’S ARE FANTASTIC….THAT IS A
GOOD TIME TO CHECK THE PATTERN, TREAD WEAR ETC. AND NOTE THEM IN YOUR BIBLE.
(YOU DO KEEP A BIBLE, DON’T YOU?) WHEN THE HOOK BEGINS TO FADE, INDICATE THAT AS
WELL. YOU MAY GET A FEW MORE LICKS IF YOU ADJUST THE PRESSURE UP OR DOWN AS THE
WEAR INDICATES.
IN ANY CASE, THIS IS A TOOL NO RACER SHOULD BE WITHOUT… OR YOU STREET GUYS.
SAME THING APPLIES….SORT OF.
Digital Tread Depth gauge:
NUT AND BOLT THREAD GAUGES
Truly a neat and accurate way to verify the thread sizes of both nuts and
bolts, both SAE and metric. This set of 26 gauge plugs have a male end and
female end, all sizes clearly etched on the body of the gauge. All gauges are
wired together to keep in order of size and group and are easily transported to
the work for simple identification.
Sizes run from 6-32 to ½ 13 in both fine and course, and in metric from M-4 -
0.7 to M-10- 1.5.
If you are like me and sometimes the size and/or thread of a bolt doesn’t
come automatically, this is the tool for you. I hang mine on the outside of the
tool box and I use it more than I’d like to admit. Especially the metric stuff.
(Some of you, it would be just the opposite) trial and error is costly and time
consuming. Do yourself a great favor and have this set where you can get to it
on a moments notice!

MAX WEDGE THROTTLE ARMS
ABSOLUTELY THE FINEST REPLICA EVER PRODUCED. Accurate right down to the
copyright logo stamped on the sides and the correct plating used by Carter in
the 60’s.
Simply remove the throttle arms from ANY Carter, Edelbrock or Webber produced
“AFB” (or AVS if you wish) Neatness IS important especially on the removal. You
should use a set of nice sharp files to debur the shaft and bring the slotted
portion of the shaft as close to the original shape as is possible, and slip
these over the shaft, space out, center and either “tack” in place or brad down
like the original Carburetors were done.
Nothing gives you the exact feel and look on a cross ram application as these
arms do. They place the spring hole in the exact place for the exact “feel” in
the tension of the springs in the accelerator pedal, and they locate the ball
for the linkage in the exact height and center as original so as to ensure wide
open throttle, and the correct timing as the arm and rod sweep through the
unnatural arc they are required to do.
NO RESTORATION OR RACE APPLICATION WILL BE COMPLETE WITHOUT THESE ARMS. You
can fudge on the carburetors, and hide the air horn under the air cleaner, and
you can move the fuel inlet to the opposite side.
(THIS IS A SERVICE WE ALSO SUPPLY AS WELL AS COMPLETE CARBURETOR RESTORATION
AND BOTH STREET AND STRIP CALIBRATION) Just call for more information, virtually
anytime, at 352-468-1353
It’s just impossible to deal with Chevy throttle arms.
MAX WEDGE THROTTLE ARMS:
PORTABLE HARDNESS TESTER
ANOTHER AWESOME TOOL FOR YOUR BOX!
THIS NEW INNOVATIVE FILE SET PROVIDES A QUICK, INEXPENSIVE AND SIMPLE WAY TO
CHECK MATERIAL HARDNESS. NO NEED TO BRING THE MATERIAL TO BE TESTED OVER TO A
HARDNESS TESTING MACHINE; JUST BRING THIS FILE SET (6 FILES FROM 40 TO 65 HRC)
TO THE PIECE TO BE TESTED.
FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS TO TEST YOUR MATERIAL;
START WITH THE BLACK HANDLE FILE (65 HRC) AND RUN THE FILE OVER THE TEST
MATERIAL. IF IT MARKS THE MATERIAL, THE MATERIAL IS LESS THAN 65 HRC!
CAUTION: PICK A NON-CRITICAL PLACE TO TEST. KEEP AWAY FROM MACHINED SURFACES.
THERE IS ALWAYS A SURFACE THAT YOU CAN TEST THAT WILL YIELD THE SAME RESULT AS A
CRITICAL MACHINED SURFACE.
TRY THE BLUE HANDLE (60 HRC); IF IT DOES NOT MARK THE MATERIAL, THE FILE IS
SOFTER THAN THE MATERIAL. IN THIS CASE, THE MATERIAL IS BETWEEN 60 AND 65 HRC.
IF THE BLUE HANDLE (60 HRC) DID MARK THE MATERIAL, SIMPLY TRY THE LIGHT GREEN
FILE (50 HRC), AND CONTINUE UNTIL THE MATERIAL IS NOT MARKED. THE APPROXIMATE
HARDNESS OF THE MATERIAL IS BETWEEN THE FILE THAT MARKS THE MATERIAL AND THE
FILE THAT SLIPS OVER THE MATERIAL.
SEE HOW SIMPLE THAT WAS?
GREAT FOR CRANKSHAFTS, CONNECTING RODS, BOLTS (BE CAREFUL HERE!) RING AND
PINIONS* AND SO MANY OTHER THINGS IN OUR PROFESSION OR HOBBY!
*RING AND PINION: THE RING GEAR AND THE PINION GEAR MUST BE VERY DIFFERENT
FROM EACH OTHER, OTHERWISE THEY WILL FAIL.

MAX WEDGE PORT SIZE INTAKE GASKETS
These intake manifold gaskets were especially created to fit EXACTLY the size
and location of the famous MAX WEDGE cylinder heads. Because Indy and B1s copied
the MAX, these fit them perfectly as well.
We chose the finest ARMSTRONG material, known for it’s resistance to
“wicking” when exposed to oil, a problem in the MAX. Then we coated both sides
with a special substance to keep it from sticking and tearing during manifold
removal, hence, with care, they can be re-used.
Next, we offer it in 4 different thicknesses, .015, .030, .045 and .060”.
This is the key. By raising and lowering the manifold until you can run the
screws in by hand easily, you can insure that the ports line up even though you
can’t actually SEE the ports. IF THE BOLT HOLES LINE UP PERFECTLY, SO WILL THE
PORTS! Therefore, having access to various thickness gaskets is the insurance.
Gaskets can also be glued to each other to make other thicknesses, like .075”,
.090”, .105” etc. You never know what you will be working with on these engines
of 45 years old and God knows how many owners and trips to the machine shop. Use
special adhesive, 3M super 77.
Buy them in pairs or save a few bucks as a kit.
